Prism and Pyramid DLO

A prism has rectangular faces apart from the front
and back faces. A pyramid does not have rectangular
faces and they have a point at the top, which is
called an apex.

We got a clear prism and went outside to try and see
if we could make it a rainbow. We used the drinking
fountain because it is made of metal and it was
reflecting.

AJAX The Kea Dog

AJAX The Kea Dog
By Corey Mosen and Nicola McCloy

Do you like a superhero dog on an adventure?

Setting:The setting takes place in many national parks in the South Island: Kahurangi National Park and Arthur’s Pass National Park.

Ajax, in the winter, would go to Corey’s mums house and cause some mischief. While Corey was doing volunteering work in less fortunate countries.
Plot: Corey is looking for a dog friend for work. He went to Westport and brought Ajax off a dog breeder. Then he trained him to be a kea dog. Ajax was about three years old when he was ready for the job therefore he started the journey of a kea dog.
Characters: There two man characters in the story Ajax and Corey but many other characters appear in the story. Ajax is a hard working dog that loves the buch and his treats he is caring to his owner Corey. Corey is passionate about kea and their safety in the Southern Alps.

My Opinion: This book is good for ages 11 and above because of the size of the book and the education on kea. I like the pictures in the book and the cool adventures in it.

Lake Daniells Day Tramp

On the 12-6-2019 room 8 and room 1 went on a day tramp to Lake Daniells
for William Pike. Thanks to the teachers Ms Kemp and Mrs Robin for
organising and you can't forget the parents for transport and a laugh.

Before the tramp we learned about hypothermia and we had to not wear
cotton to stop water freezing up against your skin. Then we set of in the
cars. I went with my dad up to Reefton and to the Lake Daniells car park.

The walk up to the lake was about two hours in and two hours back. It
was a good walk but it didn't snow so that was sad.Near the end of
the tramp me and a couple of friends carried some logs
to drop off the bridge. That was the best part!
